Have you heard of the Vaadin Office Hours? We have regularly organized live Q&A sessions for all Vaadin users over the past couple of months. These have turned out successful. So far, we have discussed over fifty different topics together with 148 community members.

The Vaadin Office Hours is an online event for Vaadin users and actual use cases. The sessions are driven by our DevRel team and they are there to help answer any technical questions you may have regarding Vaadin. For example, during previous sessions, we received a lot of good questions about the Vaadin Flow and Hilla frameworks, integrations, and add-ons.

Below, we list some of the most common topics that we see repeatedly popping up during Office Hours:

Custom components for Vaadin: If you have a specific UI feature or design in mind for your application and want to know how to create your custom component in Vaadin. Several components are readily available in the Vaadin Directory, but making your custom component is sometimes the best option. We can help you get started!

Theming and applying CSS: Want to style your Vaadin components to match your application's design? Vaadin components support application-level themes and embedded CSS. Still, for Java developers, CSS can be tricky overall, and we have been helping to choose the best option for each application use case.

Various project setups: Setting up a new Vaadin Flow project typically is no different from a standard Maven project. But, if you are new to the framework, there are some handy tips and tricks to get your project up and running smoothly.

Using Quarkus with Vaadin: Quarkus is a Kubernetes-native Java framework designed to build cloud-native applications in Java. Vaadin supports Quarkus.

Production and optimization: If you're working on optimizing your Vaadin application for production use, during our sessions, we have shared some best practices and tips to help you get the most out of your application.

These are just a few examples of what we have discussed in our previous Vaadin Office Hours. Join us for the next session to ask your questions!

We look forward to seeing you in the next live session on Discord Thursday, December 29th, 2022. Don't worry, if you don't have any specific questions, you can just join in and listen.
