I'm happy to announce the Vaadin Collaboration Kit Application Challenge launch, an app design and programming competition. This challenge aims to design and build an application using the Vaadin Collaboration Kit. The application should solve a real-world problem, which could be anything from customer support to sales automation. It can be an existing solution you extend with collaboration features or a completely new and fresh idea.
Work alone or collaborate. The competition has two tracks: Design or App Development. The Design route is for you if you have experience creating application user interfaces using Figma. Developers that are familiar with IDEs, Java, and GitHub can participate in the App development category. If you feel like a multi-talent, you can choose both.
Start now, and submit by January 31, 2022.
The contest has two steps:
- A brief Vaadin Collaboration Kit quiz for both categories.
- The actual development challenge for designers and developers.
The submission time starts November 15, and the final deadline is January 31, 2023 - so you have plenty of time to prepare. Just like in real life, time is essential; the sooner you submit, the more points you will get. We will reveal the winners by the end of January.
Win great prizes
The competition is a fantastic way to practice your interface design and application development skills while competing for prizes. The competition Jury evaluates the submissions and chooses the best applications for both tracks. We have grand awards for the top three best applications and designs. Some of these awards include iPad Pro, reMarkable, Bose NC headset, and more, with a total of $5k worth of prizes!
The winners will also receive a two-year runtime license for Collaboration Kit so that you can run your collaborative application for an unlimited number of concurrent users.
