And it's free! At Vaadin Dev Day events, you get to see developers from the Vaadin team presenting technical topics on web development. Traditionally, this event is held in person in different cities throughout the year. At the beginning of 2020, this changed and the event was moved online and offered free to everyone.
The first edition of the online event was mostly dedicated to Vaadin's Java API. If you missed it, the talks are available on YouTube. It was a huge success and "sold out" in a few days. This time, the theme is centered on one of the most exciting new features in recent versions of Vaadin: TypeScript views. Here's the agenda:
- Reactive templates, TypeScript, and typed endpoints in Vaadin - Viktor Lukashov
- Implementing file uploads on unreliable connections - Erik Lumme
- Client-side form validation in Vaadin apps - Marcus Hellberg
Although the online experience is different from that of a regular conference, where you can move around and interact with the speakers in person, the first online version of the conference had a nice, friendly, and interactive atmosphere with participants sending questions and even answering and adding more information to the topic.
We'll use the same platform we used before to broadcast the talks and interact with the participants. You'll be able to chat with all the attendees and send questions to the speakers. The talks will be published later, so you can share them with your colleagues or watch them again if you want to try some code yourself. If you cannot attend the online event, it's a good idea to subscribe to the Vaadin Youtube channel to be notified when the talks are available.
