It's once again time for Devoxx Belgium, one of the most exciting Java events in Europe. Our team finished setting up the expo booth and are looking forward to all the interesting conversations ahead!

Modern web with Web Components and Java

The web has evolved drastically over the past few years. Modern web apps can deliver native-like experiences on any device. For instance, they can be installed or receive push notifications.

A component-based development model has become the dominant way of building these modern web apps. Many companies are moving from proprietary models, like those of Angular and React, to W3C standard web components.

Web components work in any web framework. This allows the creation of framework-agnostic design systems that unify the look, feel, and usability of all apps in an organization.

Simplified web app development with Vaadin

The downside of this progress is that web development has become more complex. Building a web app requires skills in several languages, environments, and the coordination of these moving parts.

Vaadin is a simpler alternative for building web apps. Vaadin comes with a library of customizable web components, an intuitive Java API, and automated server-browser communication. Vaadin lets you create a full-stack modern web app entirely in Java.

Let us show you the code

Leif Åstrand, CTO of Vaadin, will give an in-depth session on modern web development with web components on Wednesday, November 6, 16:40 in Room 4. The presentation is guaranteed to be code-heavy.

Meet the Vaadin team

Be sure to visit the Vaadin booth in the expo area to talk with the development team and try Vaadin out for yourself.

On Tuesday November 5th, we're hosting a Vaadin Meetup at 20:00. More details can be found on the Vaadin Belgium Meetup page.

See you in Antwerp!
