When using vaadin.version 10.0.2 I get TypeError: Cannot read property 'ap

When using vaadin.version 10.0.2 I get TypeError: Cannot read property ‘appendChild’ of null :google-signin-aware.html:236
The original code uses vaadin.version 10.0.0.beta10 and throws no error.
What could be the difference of the above vaadin versions related this issue?
