I couldn’t reproduce the issue via UI though. Which version are you using? Might be fixed already. And what browser/OS you are using, this might be platform specific issue. I tried in Safari and Chrome on Mac.
But yeah, most likely a bug, I don’t think that validation message should dissappear on click.
I am using v 14.10.4, Ubuntu, Chrome 115.0.5790.170
the problem other than it disappear on click is that it doesn’t re-appear when I hit submit and validation si triggered by writeBean imho
Chromium not chrome to be precise
I tested it on firefox too, and it’s the same
I’m on 24.1.5
That is probably the difference. There seems to be one bugfix release in 14.x series newer, you could check that still, but if you can still reproduce it, go an fill in a bugreport. If you have “Warranty” service, I suggest to use that. Because it seems to be fixed in newer version, it will probably not end up on top of the TODO list without it.
Thanks for the info, if I am not wrong v14 is maintained until 2024 (I don’t remember the month) ? It is not EOL from what I read, I will fill a bug report
Yup! Not even nearly EOL, but there are other bugs as well
In the best case, the fix is a simple backport.
Roadmap | Vaadin August 2024 for the free support, plus 10 years after that for Extended Maintenance
ok thanks all for the infos!
In the best case, the fix is a simple backport
The validation (a lot) has changed in Vaadin 24 (to fix issues that can’t be fixed without breaking changes) so that’s probably not a simple backport.
14.11 should have a lot of changes regarding validations… but not sure when it’s released ![]()
