Vaadin 6.1.1 available

Vaadin 6.1.1 is a bugfix release for Vaadin 6. See the
Change Log
for a detailed list of issues fixed in this release.

You can download the installation package from
or, if you are using the
Vaadin Plugin for Eclipse
, simply upgrade your project from project preferences to use the new version and the plugin will download the new package for you.

For a list of new features and enhancements in the previous minor update release 6.1.0, see the
Release Notes for Vaadin 6.1.0

Problem fixes and enhancements planned for upcoming releases can be found from the
Vaadin Roadmap
in Vaadin Trac.

As always, when upgrading from an earlier version, you should recompile any custom widget sets and refresh your project in Eclipse. If you are upgrading from earlier than 6.1.0, notice that Vaadin 6.1 uses GWT 1.7.0 (included in the installation package). See the
General Upgrade Notes
for more details on upgrading.

Cool, thanks!

One thing I still wonder about: Why is there a vaadin-*.jar in the WebContent/ also as in the WebContent/WEB-INF/lib/ directory? At least for me, it seems to be quite useless

Two reasons:

  • (deprecated) It was linked from package index.html
  • It was easier to find

As the first reason is now deprecated, there might not be need for a duplicate copy anymore.
