TwinColSelect how to make the columns bigger?

I have a problem using TwinColSelect in my application. The columns are far two small (i.e. the content of the item is not completly visible…). How can I make the columns bigger? I tried setWidth() on the TwinColSelect item, but that does not help… There are about 20 characters visible, I need much more.
