Screenshot widget!?!

A preview of an interesting widget developed by Sami:

Thanks for promoting!

As the implementation is based on applet and I have used only a temporary (self signed) certificate to sign it, this something that you should try only if really you trust me  I hope I can get the real certificate soon to sign the applet.

For those really-really brave people I have added a new helpful feature:

Now you can surf around and use this application to upload a screenshots to Flickr! That is of course, if you trust the application to modify your photostream also…

This is also a good reminder on why WebStart / Applets / JavaFX are not that cool in practice… It is a really really hard to convince your users to “just press ok” when an applet asks something like: “do you want to give an unlimited access to your computer to Mr. Smith whose identity could not be verified”. If you disagree, just press “ok” in Samis application demo above ;)

No really - it is ok do press ok in this case. It doesn’t do anything nasty. I promise. Just trust me.

Sami,

  1. I am unable to access the demo. Is it still there ?

  2. Is the source available for this demo ?

Thanks
Andrew

The demo seems to be working for me. Maybe a network problem?

I’ll be back with the code later

Hmm… you also had problem earlier accessing the
other example
on the same server. This seems like a networking problem. Maybe somebody should check this out?

Hi…Can this add-on be adapted to take a picture of an specific layout???..maybe even if the complete layout is not visible (if it is inside a smaller panel with scrolling enabled for example)…

regards,

Hugo
