how to add borders to verticallayout

How can I add borders to a vertical layout? I’ve tried the following which does allow me to change background color and padding so i know that the css class is getting picked up but no borders and no radiuses. please help.

That’s because you haven’t defined everything needed for a border, per css rules. you need border-width, border-color and border-style to get one. Add a border-style: solid in there and it should work.

I find it a lot easier to remember and cleaner when you use the shorthand border: 1px solid black;
