Finland Education

ViLLE is a collaborative education platform developed in the University of Turku. ViLLE enables teachers to create virtual courses and automatically assessed exercises of different kinds easily. It can be used to create and edit programming examples and to observe events in the examples during their execution. Its main purpose is to support the learning process of novice programmers. Teacher can add programming examples to ViLLE and then visualize their execution in lectures or over the web.

ViLLE is utilized in programming courses at various universities in e.g. Finland, Australia, South Africa, Lithuania and Malaysia. The effectiveness of ViLLE has been evaluated in various studies, and based on the results, ViLLE enhances students' learning regardless of previous programming experience.
