Birch sprouts.

During wintertime the birch is associated with the black grouse sitting in its tree top, in springtime its bright green sprout are associated with new life and all through the year its branches are associated with softly hitting yourself with them in the sauna. The fine white bark of the birch represents cleanness, it is considered by many as the best possible tinder when starting a fire and it is the prime raw material for creating your toy sailing boats during summer. No wonder birch is the national tree of Finland as it represents new life and a neverending source for inspiration.

Technical Webinars

We've had a lot of webinars this spring, starting from the Spring webinar with Josh Long from Pivotal all the way to the most recent one on Scala and Vaadin with James Ward from Typesafe. We're also constantly publishing videos from GWT.create 2013 on the Vaadin Youtube channel, which is the prime spot for staying up to date with Vaadin and GWT.

Our next upcoming webinar is a collaboration with Oracle's NetBeans team lead Geertjan Wielenga on "Java EE 7 with Vaadin and NetBeans". In it we build a full-stack JavaEE7 application on an existing JPA backend using Glassfish, Vaadin and NetBeans. The webinar takes place April 3rd so sign up now to the free event.

Meet and greet at events

Vaadin at events

We at Vaadin attend different events around the world to meet you in person. This spring we've been in Munich Germany, Stockholm Sweden, Barcelona Spain, San Diego US, Zagreb Croatia, Atlanta US, Melbourne Australia, San Francisco US, Brühl Germany and we've met hundreds of Vaadin developers worldwide.

The next events we're attending are Codemotion Rome in mid April, IBM Impact Las Vegas in the end of April and JAX Germany in mid May. Not to forget the largest Vaadin event of the year - GWT.create is back in January 2015 in Munich and San Francisco, the best place to learn about Vaadin and GWT. Last year we had over 600 participants and this year we're aiming for even more.

Spring clean your licenses

Vaadin Pro Tools

Spring time also means cleaning and fixing your licenses. How about some easy charting with Vaadin Charts? Or creating a mobile and tablet version out of your existing Vaadin application with Vaadin TouchKit? Or ensuring quality control through automated tests with Vaadin TestBench? Vaadin Pro Tools is the way to get all of these to your entire team in one go.

On popular demand, we've just launched a 2 year subscription, at the side of the current 1 month and 1 year subscriptions, to help you sort out your licenses for your entire development time - so that you can focus on building great apps.
