Vaadin 7.5

Vaadin 7.5

Vaadin 7.5 is finally out, this time concentrating on adding new features to the Grid component and enhancing the support for declarative UI. The Grid now supports column reordering using drag & drop, column hiding and expandable row details. Declarative support will help you create your layouts in HTML or use the Vaadin Designer, of which a beta version was recently released.

Vaadin Icons

Vaadin Icons

Font Awesome is the de facto standard for font icons today, and we ourselves are heavy users of it at Vaadin, as well. But we wanted to have an alternative to the round edged fonts and thus created a free icon set that is built for applications. The design is both sharper and edgier, making the crisp in your Web Application. And just like Font Awesome, they're usable on any web page, without being bound to Vaadin.

Vaadin Designer Beta

Vaadin Designer Beta

With the designer, you'll be able to save over 50% of your time in layouting. Compared to creating your layouts programmatically or declaratively, Vaadin Designer lets you see what you're doing live, thus removing your trial and error cycle completely. Not only will you be faster than before but you can also watch your design live on your mobile or in a meeting, jointly doing the design live. As a Pro Tools subscriber, you automatically have a license, and if you're not a subscriber yet, you can get your free trial on the Designer website.

Frontpage renewal

Frontpage renewal

If you haven't visited the Vaadin frontpage in a while, you're in for a surprise. We re-wrote the frontpage after a long time. The frontpage gives new Vaadin users a quicker glimpse of Vaadin Framework and Vaadin Components and what they're used for.
