ListSelect sluggishness in IE browsers

Hi All,
In my Vaadin 7 App the ListSelect reacts very slowly when selecting multiple items (CNTRL or SHIFT). It takes a few seconds to select or deselect. ​The List has around 2000 items. The other Listselect items in the page with less items (around 200) does not have this issue.

This is specific to IE, others browsers the reaction time is good. I see the issue with IE when the list items are over a certain range (in this case over 600). Is there any listbox limitation? What might casue this? Appreciate any ideas on fix or workaround?

What IE Version are you using?

It’s happening in both IE 8 and 9, I have not tried in other versions
