Sample program with V 18 from start.vaadin.con does not start; powershell.e

Hi,
just tried the sample program from start.vaadin.com with the newly announced Vaadin 18.
When trying to run the application my antivirus (avast) pops up and says it has blocked powershell.exe (see attachment). The application does not start.

Further obserservations:

  • The file C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\powershell.exe passes teh virus check without problems
  • Starting a sample program based on Vaadin 14.4.4 runs fine

I’m using Windows 10 and Firefox 83.0

Thanks!

This seems to be a common false positive occurrence. IIRC that case comes from the generalized AV engine. There are reports for [React applications]
(https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=238281.0) that suffer from that and [Visual Studio]
(https://support.avg.com/answers?id=9060N000000EYnoQAG) in general as well. Avast suggests to submit your file here: https://www.avg.com/en-us/false-positive-file-form
