I’m currently investigating solutions for upgrading a rather large-scale web application. Since migration from GXT 2.* to 4.* is a rather large step, I’m looking into alternatives, such as Vaadin here. I’ve seen there’s a method of migration for GXT to Vaadin where you wrap the existing GXT code in the Vaadin wrapper so that you can utilise your previous code and slowly introduce Vaadin for future screens/upgrading old ones over time. However, I’m unsure whether the older versions of GXT are supported in this way for Vaadin, or can you only migrate with newer GXT versions so simply, like GXT 3.* and 4.*?
