Liferay still supported by newer versions of Vaadin ?
There ist a page discussing support for developping liferay portlets with Vaadin (seel link below). The page ist related to Vaadin V8. While in the documentation of the newer versions if Vaadin I don't find anymore articles about Liferay-Vaadin compatibility. Does Vaadin 13 still work for Liferay?
Thank you for clarification
Vaadin 10-13 does not as of today support portlets. Generic portlet support is in the works and the plan is to have it in 14.1 in a few months. I'm not sure if the generic portlet 2.0/3.0 support is enough for Liferay, but we'll see if it needs extra and make further development efforts based on the findings.
Hello Jens You wrote it was planned for 14.1 Vaadin 14.1 is out and also 15. Is there any progress (planned) on the generic portlet support?
Thank you for update. Yves
There has been some progress and support for Pluto portal is pretty much ready. It will at least initially be a commerctiola add-on. You can follow the developement here:
We already investigated Liferay support a bit. It looks like it shouldn't be too much work to get it done. But as the current sponsor is only interested about Pluto, that isn't our priority currently. BTW, Would you expect OSGi support as well for Liferay Vaadin-integration?
Yes, I would expect developping Vaadin UIs as standard Liferay component.
BTW, for smaller projects, where liferay may not be appropriate: Do you have a recommendation for a full application stack with Vaadin integaration including base features like
- content search
- tagging content
- user managment
Thank you Yves
