Problem with default selected Item in Select (dropdown)

Hello friends..

I cannot get the select.select(item) to work with my implementation of FormFieldFactory.

Like textfields I would like it to show the value of the bean when I set the item of the form with method: form.setItemDataSource(item);

How do I get the Select to default select my object reference.
