VERY slow performance when embedding Vaadin in Google App Engine (GAE)

Folks,

I am running into an issue with embedding Vaadin application into Google App Engine apps. When Vaadin renders the entire page, the performance is fantastic. But when I use static HTML files with Vaadin embeds (see example below), the page loads instantly but then embedded Vaadin apps take at least 8-10 seconds to load. This happens locally and on appspot.com. Has anyone encountered this before? Are there any settings that can be tweaked to improve the performance?

I don’t have solution for you but question…

Did you say fantastic performance? I have very simple hello world app and it takes 600 ms to lad page (with resources in servlet 6 s).
