I'm kinda surprised... byte binary array is a standard JDBC return type, why it's not supported? From SQLContainer.class:
Byte is a binary array and not an object, so it fails.
unfortunately this has been on the backlog quite long (see https://dev.vaadin.com/ticket/5700). If you have Vaadin Pro subscription, you could do a feature vote for that to push it on. Seems that so far no one has voted for this feature.
