If I create a project not using the Vaadin maven archetypes, I have trouble using the Vaadin Designer.
What are the dependencies, both jars and non-jar artifacts (themes, widgetsets, whatever), that must be part of a project for the successful use of the designer?
There are a couple known issues with the Vaadin maven archtypes in the current alpha version (0.6.4) which we are aiming to fix for the next alpha. What problems are you experiencing?
The designer shouldn’t require any other dependencies than vaadin-server-7.4 in your classpath. This might however change when we release the designer beta version as it will depend on some Vaadin 7.5 features. But for now the 7.4 server jar should be enough.
In my current brand-new project I can’t hit the “Finish” button when creating a new design. I cannot open the designer on an html/java pair I pulled over from a working project. I get an NPE:
