Vaadin Certification Exam Statistics

The Vaadin Certification Exam has been around for several months now. Can Vaadin provide the following statistics:

  • Number of unique people who have taken the Vaadin certification exam
  • Number of times the Vaadin certification exam has been failed (not passed)
  • Number of times the Vaadin certification exam has been attempted
  • Number of times the Vaadin certification exam has been failed (not passed)
  • Number of unique people who are not affiliated with Vaadin (non-Vaadin employees/consultants) have passed the Vaadin certification exam
  • Average number of retries of the Vaadin certification exam before passing
  • Number of non-Vaadin individuals who have passed the Vaadin certification exam but have not purchased/attended formal Vaadin training
  • Number of non-Vaadin individuals who have passed the Vaadin certification exam but have purchased/attended formal Vaadin training

Thank you

Hi! You had quite an extensive list of questions don’t have answers to all the questions, but here are some stats including the training:

  • Exams taken total 211 times
  • Passed 86
  • For those who have passed it took on average 1.3 tries

It is hard to say about the training at this point as there is no direct link between the earlier attendees (currently shows only 4 people). Note also that these numbers only from Vaadin 7 trainings/certifications (not Vaadin 6).

Anyway, these are not as big numbers we’d like to see, but one must remember that before November, it required Pro Account subscription to even take the exam.

Btw, there has been some feedback about individual questions being too hard to answer. So we are also analysing the questions and refining them to make sure that they are relevant and up-to-date.

Sami, thank you for the thoughtful response. Yes, it was an
‘extensive list’
.

Vaadin is an excellent product.

Convincing corporations (at least in the USA) of the usefulness/productiveness of Vaadin is not a challenge once they (developers) have had some experience with it. However, the notion that the certification is not passable by a relatively experienced (many projects) Vaadin developer makes it a hard-sell.

We want to see Vaadin flourish.
