Really simple address book example

I gave a presentation on
JavaForum in Malmö about IT Mill Toolkit
. As a part of the presentation I demonstrated on how to create applications - step by step - using the new
AddressBook tutorial
.

It seems to be quite hard to give a good overall picture of the application development in just 25 minutes when the application has 948 lines of code. Thus I decided that it would be great to have a simpler example and created a
“Simple Address Book” application
that is 10 times mores simple (137 lines of code instead of 948, only one class instead of 13).

Any ideas on how to make the example:

  • Simpler
  • More impressive
  • Seem more like a real app

?

I think, mimic of , say, OS X Address Book application will add more impression. By the way, iTunes sample is also excellent companion for such prsentations, it does not show the business logic like address book sample but will show how easy to customize a theme instead.

BTW, Just saw the new Sampler - guys, it looks terrific !

This is a good idea - maybe I will build a “OS X Address Book” theme for the sample.
