Massive Grid lagging issues with Chrome version 111.x

Since the new release of Chrome 111 we’re experiencing massive lagging problems when scrolling within grids.
We didn’t change anything else within our software and are wondering what the cause of this issue might be and if there’s a possible workaround other than “don’t update your browser”

When looking at the browser console we’re getting the following error:

41[Violation] Added non-passive event listener to a scroll-blocking event. Consider marking event handler as ‘passive’ to make the page more responsive. See

Violation] Added non-passive event listener to a scroll-blocking ‘touchstart’ event. Consider marking event handler as ‘passive’ to make the page more responsive. See https://www.chromestatus.com/feature/5745543795965952

The issue might be related to this:

Doesn’t reproduce at least with a trivial example for me. I recommend creating a ticket with a reproducible example at GitHub - vaadin/web-components: A set of high-quality standards based web components for enterprise web applications. Part of Vaadin 20+

Its reproducible in the docs section for the grid component: https://vaadin.com/docs/latest/components/grid
Here the violation warnings occur when scrolling down on the page itself so that multiple grids get loaded.

For us we can reproduce it easily with grids that contain lots of data (1k+) so scrolling down on the grid triggers loading of multiple new pages.

I’ll second my recommendation to create a GitHub issue, then.
