How to connect with Mysql through Jpa in vaadin7

Hi,
I am new to Vaadin, I need to connect with mysql through Jpa but i cant create pojo for that entities (@Entity,@id,@Column are not working from JPA).Please can you tell me any other option to connect other than using JPAContainer.
