how to change vaadin tab color

Hey everyone!
I have a question, i want to change the color of my vaadin tabs. So far i used the css selector vaadin-tab[selected] and it worked but when i click on a tab without releasing the mouse it is still blue and after i release it goes to the color i gave it. I used :active but it did not work. Thanks!
