Difficulty bringing up Vaadin Editor

I’ve got a brand-new Eclipse J2EE installation with a brand-new Vaadin plugin installation, and default new Vaadin project.

When I try to edit the UI file with the Vaadin editor, I get an empty window: the title is empty and there’s no “designer” tab view. There is a Source tab view.

It appears to have crashed during the editor invocation:

Session data:
eclipse.buildId=4.3.0.M20130911-1000
java.version=1.7.0_15
java.vendor=Oracle Corporation
BootLoader constants: OS=win32, ARCH=x86_64, WS=win32, NL=en_US
Framework arguments: -product org.eclipse.epp.package.jee.product
Command-line arguments: -os win32 -ws win32 -arch x86_64 -product org.eclipse.epp.package.jee.product

I’d appreciate some help, please. Thanks.

Eclipse Kepler (eclipse-jee-kepler-SR1-win32-x86_64) (no problem by Indigo)
Windows 8 x64bit

I see only source tab on footer of eclipse. Design tab missing.

I have the same issue - Win 7 64 Bit, STS 3.4.0. There seems to be a defect report http://dev.vaadin.com/ticket/13137 but no updates yet.
