I create Vaadin CustomComponent. when i finish, the message show me that “Could not start XULRunner (version 1.9 or higher required).the editor might not function properly.and the instruction to download XULRunner 1.9”. i have download XULRunner 1.9 but there is no installer?. How to install or use the XULRunner 1.9?Help me!!.
I cannot use the Eclipse plugin at all even so I installed the xulrunner 1.9 per given instructions.
It’s a pity there is no answer to this problem that appeared since May '09.

Sorry this has gone unanswered for way too long… And I don’t really know the answer to your problems.
However, I do know that the WYSIWYG designer is
very
experimental software, and probably won’t work at the moment. A release is estimated for the end of Q2 (see
the roadmap
), with development effort starting in the beginning of Q2. This means you can expect the nightly builds to contain updates for the editor starting in Q2.
This probably doesn’t help, but I hope I could shine a light on the current situation at least.

Vaadin Visual Designer for Eclipse (upgrade only) 2.0.1.201105170102
After start Visual Designer, Eclipse reports
"Could not start XULRunner (version 1.9 or higher required) ’
, but the Designer can continue to generate components and codes for me.
Can I ignore the error message?
I assume you are using Windows. The editor is in your case defaulting to another browser (IE on windows), which is likely to be a little slower but you can ignore the message as long as everything else works.
Try to use Eclipse 32bit edition , i think its not working on 64bit edition.
Indeed - Mozilla has not been making 64-bit Windows versions of XULRunner.
Just a few days ago, they
merged some changes required for this
, but
there are still many open issues left
before they can produce 64-bit XULRunner for Windows. Once they are resolved,
this
is the Mozilla bug ticket for actually making such builds.
I open the design view in eclipse cost almost 2 minutes, and I got this error too. Does this error matter? Thanks.
