Borders not showing

I’ve been going through a tutorial and can’t seem to get borders to show up. I’ve attached my sourcecode; LayoutframeworkUI.java and the class it calls to create my layout, MainLayout.java, and also a screen shot of what I’m seeing. Oh, and I’ve also tried it in multiple browsers with the same result. Any suggestions?

Frank,

Instead of using

v-ddwrapper-over

can you try creating your custom css class and add code to show border?
I read sometime back that we shouldnt be using this style for borders

Thanks.

Hey Krishna,

That did it. In the auto-generated Vaadin 7 project that my Eclipse IDE created I drilled down to WebContent/VAADIN/themes/layoutframework/styles.scss and added the following:

.border {
border: 2px solid #1d9dff;
background-color: #bcdcff;
padding: 0;
}

Then I just changed the showBorders() method to the following:

private void showBorders() {
    String style = "border";
    setStyleName(style);
    upperSection.setStyleName(style);
    lowerSection.setStyleName(style);
    menuLayout.setStyleName(style);
    contentLayout.setStyleName(style);
}

Worked out great! Thanks

define “.border” at

layout_framework.scss
