AppJars Process Manager - Vaadin Add-on Directory
Schedule, run and monitor background tasks in Vaadin apps: turn Runnable beans into cron-scheduled processes, pause or run them on demand and review their execution history. Commercial AppJar with a free mode.> **Licensing:** this add-on is a thin wrapper licensed under **Apache 2.0**. It contains no code of its own and simply pulls in the **Process Manager AppJar** modules, which are **commercial software** distributed under the [AppJars Software License Agreement](https://www.appjars.com/legal/license/v1/). You can use Process Manager for free in **free mode** (up to 2 processes in total, both fully operable). A license removes all limits. See [Licensing](https://docs.appjars.com/licensing/).
**Process Manager** brings visibility and control to your application's background tasks, with an administration UI built with Vaadin Flow. Turn existing `Runnable` beans into processes, schedule them with cron expressions, run them on demand and keep a complete execution history, without redeploying or restarting the application.
## Features
- **Zero-contract task discovery:** any Spring-managed `Runnable` bean becomes a task that can be assigned to a process, with no module-specific interface to implement.
- **Flexible scheduling:** type any six-field cron expression with a live plain-language description, pick one of the common presets, or build it with a visual generator (days, hour range and frequency).
- **Lifecycle control:** pause, resume, clear the schedule or execute any process on demand, without waiting for its next scheduled run.
- **Execution history:** every run is recorded with its start time, end time and duration, filterable by date and time.
- **Live status:** independent schedule and execution statuses update in every open view through Vaadin server push, without polling.
- **Safe background execution:** tasks run on the module's own scheduler, overlapping runs of the same process are skipped, and a failing task does not affect future runs.
## Installation
If your project doesn't declare it yet, add the Vaadin add-ons repository:
```xml
vaadin-addons
https://maven.vaadin.com/vaadin-addons
```
Add the dependency. The wrapper declares the AppJars repository (`https://maven.appjars.com`), so Maven resolves the modules automatically:
```xml
org.vaadin.addons.appjars
appjars-process-manager
2.0.1
```
- **Gradle** ignores repositories declared in dependency POMs, so add `maven { url "https://maven.appjars.com" }` to your repositories.
- **Nexus/Artifactory mirroring everything (`mirrorOf *`):** your administrator needs to add a proxy for `https://maven.appjars.com`.
Then follow the [Getting started guide](https://docs.appjars.com/process-manager/getting-started/).
## Requirements
- Java 21
- Vaadin 25.2
- Spring Boot 4.1
- JPA / Hibernate
- Server push (`@Push`) enabled for live status updates; without it, the view only shows the state at page load ([details](https://docs.appjars.com/process-manager/developer-guide/))
## Included dependencies
| Artifact | License |
|---|---|
| `com.appjars:appjars-process-manager-flow` | AppJars Software License Agreement v1 (commercial) |
| `com.appjars:appjars-process-manager-business-impl` | AppJars Software License Agreement v1 (commercial) |
| `com.appjars:appjars-process-manager-data-impl` | AppJars Software License Agreement v1 (commercial) |
These modules transitively bring in the rest of the Process Manager modules and `appjars-*-utils` (same commercial license), plus open-source libraries such as Vaadin add-ons by Flowing Code (Apache 2.0).

AppJars Process Manager version 2.0.1
A patch release, with one fix to the Processes view.
#### Fixes
- The **resize listener** of the Processes view is now released when the view detaches, instead of outliving it.
