The early bird catches the worm!

We have finally finished our plan for the upcoming Vaadin trainings of this autumn! The popular Vaadin Trainings, open classroom courses, are arranged all over Europe and in the U.S. in various cities and locations. The hands-on Vaadin 7 classroom training is the most efficient way to learn Vaadin in just a few days. In addition to the hands-on experience and coding, you will get your own copy of the Book of Vaadin along with the Vaadin t-shirt. During the course our experienced Vaadin Developers are there to help with any questions you migh have in your mind. After the course you are ready to take the training final exam. The early bird price, discount of 10% is available for all the courses.

As you maybe noticed, we launched a Vaadin 7 Certification program (a few weeks ago). Vaadin Trainings introduce all the concepts that are present in the certification exam. Reading the Book of Vaadin together with the trainings fresh in mind will give you a huge leg up when trying for the Vaadin 7 Certified Developer certification.

What's new: GWT Fundamentals course

We’ve also introduced a brand new course, called GWT Fundamentals from the beginning of this year. GWT is a development toolkit for building and optimizing complex browser-based applications. GWT is used by many products at Google, and it's open source, and used by thousands of developers around the world. With GWT you can also develop full client side web applications using JavaScript and AJAX, without the need to worry about the nitty gritty details of the runtime environment.

GWT Fundamentals is a two-day course is divided into short lectures and the real deal, the hands-on coding and exercises. During the course you will learn about the fundamental tools and techniques needed to build great web apps with GWT. The course focuses on GWT functionalities including Layouts Widgets, Events, ClientBUndle, I18N, GWT-RPC, Debugging and Testing. The Fundamentals course covers these functionalities.

The first day starts by introducing how to set up a GWT application, and introduces layouts and Widgets to develop a simple application that displays some data. The second day builds on top of that, by introducing an editing view with data binding and validation. It finishes off by introducing things like resource handling and localisation, or what is in the interest of the training participants.

The first GWT Fundamentals took place in Helsinki in February 2013. The training gathered together developers with various web development experience, even a guest from Italy. In case you want to get started with GWT on your own, visit GWT website for tutorials, downloads and the learn more section.

The early-bird prices are now available to all the upcoming trainings, so don't wait too long and take a look at the agenda now! Sign up and see you at the trainings!
